FEATHER IS…

A creative platform and production company that produces events and curates content that bridges the gap between spirituality, empowerment, and culture for modern Black and Brown women.

Here are a few different problems I’m tackling:

First, there isn’t an authentic space for Black folks who are spiritual that actually encompasses all of the different types of spirituality. The current industry is limiting; Divination is a part of spirituality, but there are a lot of other ways to practice that aren’t as common in mainstream conversation. For example, yoga, traveling, intentionally listening to yourself during transitions, and sharing authentic conversations are all examples of spirituality.

Additionally, most mainstream spiritualist stores are white-owned, and inappropriately or even illegally source their sage and crystals. Black and Brown healers are often left out of spiritual representation as seen in mainstream media, and cultural thought leaders are often shown as white men or women.

At the end of the day, we’re not being spotlighted, nor are we being represented...which makes finding products and resources way more complicated than it needs to be.

In reality, spirituality IS a part of our culture, even though we’ve been historically left out and neglected from the highlight reel.

At Feather, we understand that spirituality and the human experience are very much part of the Black experience. Feather seeks to create a bridge between Black and Brown people’s spirituality and their cultural stories by creating content, experiences, community, and conversations that spark that bridge.

What Feather provides is so much more than sage and divination tools. While those are important pillars in spiritual communities, the spiritual journey is more diverse and Feather reflects that diversity.

This is why we offer events, creative storytelling, and resources produced by Black women. We also offer the largest network of Black and Brown healers and spiritualists and curate a bazaar to sell minority-owned designs, concepts, and products.

I created Feather because I saw a need after 10 years in Journalism and Marketing. I saw a need for women to see themselves shown authentically in the stories we collectively share. Through Feather, I want women to feel catharsis after seeing themselves represented - genuinely, simply, and beautifully. Spirituality impacts everything - how women show up in the world, how women connect with others, and how they connect with themselves - and I am determined to intersect spirituality in all the facets of the modern woman’s life.

Let’s grow together.
